The committees Of Afrika-Verein

The work of Afrika-Verein is supported by clearly structured bodies. The Presidium is responsible for the strategic direction of the association and represents it externally; it is supported by the Presidium Committee, which in particular performs supervisory and control functions towards the Executive Management. This structure is complemented by the Advisory Board, which advises the Presidium and Executive Management on content and programmatic issues and supports the work of the association.

Presidium Committee

Sabine Dall'Omo

President

Sabine Dall'Omo is a respected figure in the field of digital technology and engineering in Africa and is considered one of the most influential women on the continent in this male-dominated industry. She has more than thirty years of experience at Siemens and is currently Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and board member of Siemens in South Africa, where she continually advocates for the promotion of innovation and the use of technology for societal progress. Since April 2023, Ms. Dall'Omo has been President of Afrika-Verein.

Roland Göhde

Vice President

Roland Göhde, Lead Global Health & International Health Cooperation at Sysmex Europe SE, has been involved in the board of Afrika-Verein since 2014 and was elected to its Presidium in 2023. He is also Chairman of the Board of the German Health Alliance, co-founder & CEO of the Virchow Foundation, a member of the advisory groups of the UNFPA WomenX Collective, the Health Innovation Exchange established by UNAIDS, as well as in the steering committee of One Europe for Global Health.

Volker Schütte

Vice President, Treasurer

Volker Schütte is the managing director of Louis Delius GmbH & Co. KG and Honorary Consul of the Republic of South Africa. Since 2005, Mr. Schütte has been active in the Presidium of Afrika-Verein and was elected its Vice President in 2019.

Tanja Baur

Member of the Presidium Committee

Tanja Baur is an Executive Board Member and COO of the globally operating engineering and consulting company Dorsch Global GmbH. For over two decades, she has been active in international infrastructure projects and in many African countries. This includes work in the context of development cooperation in the areas of water and wastewater management, mobility, food security, biodiversity, and crisis prevention. In addition, she is active as a board member of the Foreign Committee of the Association of Consulting Engineers (VBI).

Rasmus Woermann

Member of the Presidium Committee

Rasmus Woermann has been professionally connected with Africa for two decades – among other things through extended stays in Angola and Nigeria. As managing director of the trading company C. Woermann GmbH & Co. KG, he promotes partnership-based economic relations. In addition, he is involved as deputy chairman of the Sub-Saharan Africa Initiative of German Business (SAFRI), as a member of the plenary of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and on the board of the Association of Hamburg Exporters.
